Serious Cabinet Clutter

I can’t even begin to tell you how frustrating it is to need a specific pan or Tupperware only to find it buried beneath a pile of other dishes and having to take out every other dish just to get to the one I need.

It’s not just a headache, but I have hurt my fingers so many times by digging and moving heavy dishes. Yes, I may be grumbling just a tad.

I needed to get to a solution that was going to make me breath easy when I opened my cabinets to retrieve a dish. I like to have things organized. It makes me smile. It helps my mood. (Everyone is happy when momma is happy!!!!)

You can see above my cookie sheet cabinet. Yep, I have one of those. Thrown together and a huge mess. I needed something to change with this. I headed to the thrift store for some options and found myself some great deals!

I don’t like my dishes sliding around or falling on each other in my cabinet. I found this matting at the thrift store for little cost and it was just what I needed. I cut to size for the cabinet and laid it in. Awesome – right! (You will notice that I get a lot from the thrift store. We need to always be mindful of our finances.)

I also found these gems. They would normally be used to hold papers or binders. I had something a little different in mind for them (though I could totally use them for normal use as well). These guys are going to hold my baking sheets. Yep, organized and neat according to size.

Pretty great!!!! I love it. It’s easy to get to them and put away. The kids have yet to be able to mess up this cabinet again. I have space for cutting boards and all sizes of my sheets.

AND can we talk Tupperware cabinets for a minute?

This mess always gave me anxiety. Kidding, but seriously, it was always hard to find what I needed and when I did, everything else would fall out onto the floor. I hated this cabinet.

Now…not so much!

I just found some more ways to store lids in order of size and put the larger Tupperware items on the other side of the cabinet. They all have a place and it has stayed organized for several weeks now. The kids know that they need to put it away properly or I could have a melt down. Not joking there!

We went from completely unorganized and dysfunctional cabinets to wonderfully functional. I love them now. You are completely capable of these quick fixes. It doesn’t have to cost a ton either. Thrift stores are great! I’d love to organize for you if I could. Be the keeper of your home and God will smile on you!
