A Gift That’s Yours

your-spiritual-gift

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Growing up I heard many sermons on spiritual gifts. I read scripture that spoke of such gifts and all I wanted was to desperately know what my gift was. What was I birthed with for purpose?

I have many adults approach me and ask for me to tell them what their gift is. I can no longer tell them what their gift is then predict what tomorrow brings, but I do know how to help them discover their gift.

This is something that comes from God and not from man. This is where the person who has question seeks God first and asks specifically for revelation of gifts. A person is not limited to just one gift. Honestly, it’s been sitting in front of you the whole time and you either refused to believe it or you are blind to what God has placed before you.

What are the spiritual gifts? Administration, Apostleship, Discernment, Evangelism, Exhortation, Faith, Giving, Knowledge, Leadership, Mercy, Pastoring, Prophecy, Serving, Teaching, Wisdom.

I want to encourage you to be aware of your surroundings. God is already using you in your spiritual gift. It is present and it is real right now. Look for it.

My number one spiritual gift is administration. I score a whopping 33 on the first test listed below. Every test I have ever taken always tells that administration is my spiritual gift. When I first learned this I was so disappointed. I thought “administration doesn’t sound intriguing or like it could possible make a difference in lives.” I was incredibly bummed and began looking for ways to change my spiritual gift (as if I had any say in the matter). I was trying to be someone I was not meant to be. Not cool, right!

I then discovered that this was a great strength that molded me into being the leader that I am. Administration lead me to start Titus II Woman Ministry and all that we do today. Administration has provided me with the ability to do many different jobs well because I am organized. I live by a planner – I wrote an article on my planner! Administration is what keeps this all together and going with an organized schedule of publications and writers. Seriously, you should see my calendar(s).

Every spiritual gift plays a major part in the kingdom of God and no one of them is greater than the other. God has a unique plan for each and every one of us and your gift plays a huge role. Embrace it when you find it and do whatever you can to use it for the glory of God. Eternal rewards abound.

If you are wondering, faith and teaching tied as my number 2 with a score of 32 each and tying at number 3 is knowledge and wisdom with a score of 29. You will understand the whole score thing when you take a test for yourself. I recommend the first link, but there are many out there.

Also read 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12 and 1 Peter 4 for further biblical reference.
