Gorgeous Purpose (Part Three)

Just as the thorns protect the rose, protect yourself against anything that could hinder your growth. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.” God is our ultimate protector and shield, Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God has not called us to just bloom to our “goodest” (I know that is not a word) but, Bloom so beautifully and healthy that our fragrance is incomparable and the beauty of who we are is beyond words.

God wants to use you and all your beauty to plant more beautiful buds for His gorgeous purpose. Do not let the busyness of life gain more control than the importance of focusing on your blossom. Once you let the things in life take control they win and quench the beauty of your purpose.

As I had mentioned earlier, don’t forget why you entered that room in the first place; don’t get distracted with everything else in the room. If you need to remove yourself from the room and then go back in and complete the objective you first had in mind, do it. The busyness of life happens but it’s what you do and how you respond that counts. Just as we get distracted by the busyness of life and all the different things we face consistently, our purpose is to shine through that and do everything for the glory of God. Don’t EVER, EVER, EVER think that what you do doesn’t matter. IT DOES!

Here is a little bit about me: I was a stay at home mom for the first 14 years of our marriage. There were many days that I thought changing diapers and feeding kids is certainly not as important as other roles, but God showed me that my purpose was to help grow and nurture the other rose buds in our home. I now clean houses as a side job, it doesn’t seem very glorious, but God has shown me that my “rose blossom” is evident to others around me and I can take that into homes that don’t know Christ and show them His love.

gorgeous-purpose2So, for you, be the best stay at home mom, be the best waitress, be the best banker, be the best hair dresser, be the best writer, be the best you and with God’s help your bud will blossom and everyone will see your beautiful and gorgeous purpose! “She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.” Proverbs 3:15-18.

Lord, I pray right now that you will help us women understand that You have a gorgeous purpose for each and every one of us. May we find our confidence in You and You alone. I pray for the women out there that struggle with identity and knowing who they are. I pray that You will show them that they matter more than they will ever and could ever imagine. May we always be grateful for what we do and who You made us to be.  Thank You for who You are and loving us the way You do. Amen.

She is the mother to five awesome missions and her heart to provide hope to women who are hurting is fueled by her “never give up” moments.   1. Enjoyed this! I am now a grandmother of 11 absolutely beautiful children. You were blessed to stay at home for so many years (I’m a little jealous) but God blessed me with a husband that was a pastor and he allowed me to be my children’s youth pastor as they were growing up. So I got to spend many hours with them in that role. I believe God has something for each and every one of us. Max Lacado (spelling?) calls it the “Sweet Spot” of God’s will and service in our lives. My “Sweet Spot” has been my whole life, wife, working mother, pastor’s wife, employee, boss, and friend. God bless you!

  2. Those five beautiful children that Danielle and Derrick are raising as Christ-followers are my precious grandchildren! Much of this article was difficult to read through the tears… Her words are true and grounded in the Word-she can speak with a heart of compassion because she has been down the road of heart break, but our God is faithful and and good and makes all things beautiful in His time! Thank you for your powerful words of encouragement, Danielle!
