Worship and the Power of a Woman

I strongly believe in the power that a woman holds. The influence that a woman has in this world is so powerful that we can literally change a nation. We are descendants of the first mother of the nation, Sarah. We have been given God’s grace which empowers us to live and breathe as Christ. We can change the world. Do you believe that? You should!

I have been doing a lot of research lately for my next book and have found some great information on women in the Bible that I didn’t realize before. Call it blind or naive, but for whatever reason, I just didn’t see all this good stuff until now. It literally started to leap from the pages of my journal Bible, and soon after, I started noticing a trend of names of women in the margins of my Bible. I started to have questions and want more knowledge on the lives of these brave women.

There is one woman that has really stuck out to me lately, because she had a gift of song. I feel like I know this woman’s heart. We have the love of worship in common. We both love music and to sing. She speaks to my heart’s cry for worship to a beautiful and majestic God and one who saves his people.

Her name is Miriam. She was named a prophetess, and she used music, a tambourine, to shout and sing the praises of God. We find her in Exodus 15:20-21 leading women in song and dance for the triumph of the Lord over the Egyptian army. God used her where she was with what she had to offer; her voice.

It is so easy to think that we are insignificant because we are just one women. We are just a mom, or just a wife. It’s easy to think that we don’t make a difference in our small space on this earth. You were not called daughter of the Most High God, King of Kings, Prince of Peace, and Father of all Creation to cower into this stupor of disbelief in yourself. You have been saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) and because of God’s grace, you have been given the power to walk as Jesus walked, preach as Jesus preached, and perform from gifts as Jesus did. You have been given authority over this earth. You are a queen and you rule on this earth. Satan has no hold over you and you should never let him speak lies into your life. You know that you are a child of the One True King, and you have to live in that truth every single day.

Now, I know that this is easy to preach and, trust me, I am preaching to myself more than to you. My life has been stricken with hard trials. Most days I find it hard to walk minute by minute. I wake up with feelings of doubt in myself as a mother, wife, sister, friend, and leader. Just the other day, thoughts of not good enough took me captive. Oh how I prayed, but sometimes God just asks us to hold on.

Ladies, warriors, Queens, friends…you were meant for just a time as this. You were meant to do all you can right where you are and with whom you are surrounded. You were given all the right and power to change the world where you are. There is not one place on this earth where suffering doesn’t exist. How can you be used? How can you worship God right now in your circumstance? You don’t have to have a gift of music to worship your Father and Hope for All Nations.

Oh, my God, how we need You every hour. Lead us where You want us to go and keep us from what is not of You. Give us a song in our heart to worship You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
