Shredded Italian Beef AND Dessert
I have a large family. We, like most of America are super busy during the week with sports,church, homework, appointments, trombone practice, well, you get the point. I love discovering new, easy recipes that all 9 of us will enjoy. This recipe certainly does it. Super duper easy with only 3 ingredients, and the best part, there are usually plenty of leftovers.
Shredded Italian Beef
2-3 lb chuck roast
1 jar of mild peppers ( the yellow rings)
1 packet of Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
Toss that hunk of meat into your slow cooker or crock pot as I call it, season with some black pepper, shake your packet of Italian dressing all over the top and then dump the jar of yellow pepper rings on top. That’s it! Cook on low for about 8 hours, ( i put this in when the kids are loading on the bus and when it’s dinner time, it’s done!) Once the meat is cooked, remove from the crock pot and shred that baby up! Once completely shredded toss it back into your crock pot to let it go for a swim with all the amazing juice that will be waiting in there. Serve on whatever bun or bread you wish. I like to use Italian hoagies from the bakery section of your local store. Slap a piece of your favorite cheese on top for some extra goodness. ( I prefer provolone with this recipe) That’s it! An easy, delicious crowd pleaser!
And now…for dessert.
Another fun and easy tip. You can do this to any of your fave cake flavor combos. For this picture I used a basic Chocolate cake mix, and chocolate frosting. I have done many variation of flavors though. All are fun and yummy! Okay, enough babble, what is this surprise that I speak of? Its simple! Place an Oreo in the bottom of your cupcake liner, add half the amount of batter that you normally would because that lovely cookie does take up some liner space! You can’t see the Oreo hiding in there which makes for a fun and delicious surprise!
