Thankful Thursday

Christmas is full of family traditions.

As a child we would get to open one gift on Christmas Eve.  My parents always choose which gift we would get to open.  It never failed, it was always a new pair of pajamas.  As my brother and I got older we would say, “Can we open our PJ’s now so we can go to bed and wake up and get the good presents?”

In the morning we would get our picture taken with a present in front of the tree in our new pajamas.  I treasure those pictures. I have continued the tradition with my own children adding one more item; a new book. With this tradition, we have family memories of putting on new pajamas and reading together as a family.

What is a family holiday tradition you’re thankful for?
