John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 14:16 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Christmas always brings back memories. Happy memories, like making cookies with my grandma, decorating the tree, visiting family, my husband and I got married at Christmas time and my youngest was due on Christmas day. I have many different ornaments that represent these happy times. These ornaments remind me of family and friends that are no longer with us. Those memories can lead to tears. Those tears are brief, though, because of the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Jesus, our savior’s birth, is the real reason we celebrate. With his birth and then with his sacrifice on the cross, I have hope. That hope is that I will see those that have gone before me. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, and three days later he rose again conquering death. I am going to make more memories this season, reminisce on the old memories, and hold on to the joy that we have hope because of a baby born in the manger.
