I’m sure I am not the only woman that has dear memories of a place, person, or event in our lives. As I sit here and write this article my thoughts are on one woman. A woman that loved me unconditionally and was there for me whenever I picked up the phone to call her. She had a raspy voice that would call me “Sweetheart”.
Many times, I share what is on my heart and mind at the time I write for Titus II Woman Ministry. This woman (pictured above) was my sister Linda. She was ten years older than me and took care of me when my parents were gone. She did all she could to protect me from the ugly that is in this world.
Linda has been gone from me for almost four years now. I miss her every day, but December 23rd would have been her birthday. I can see my sister in Heaven, with our dear Daddy, having a cup of Joe and wondering, waiting for when we will join them.
My sister had cancer. When we talked after this discovery, she shared with me that she had rededicated her heart and life to Christ. She wanted nothing more than for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to join her in Heaven.
Heaven is without sorrow, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
There is great beauty and wonder in Heaven, “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:1-5
We will all have a new body, my dear sister is perfect there, “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.” Philippians 3:20-21
If we love Jesus and serve Him faithfully, we all have Heaven to look forward to. While I have so many wonderful memories of my sister, I have something greater in the future; all eternity to sing praises to my Lord with those that have gone on before me.
Sister, I will see you soon!
