So, here we are. At the start of another year for Titus II Woman Ministry! At the very same time, many of you are sending your kids back to school; some with excitement and some with apprehension.
What a season!
This past summer has given us time apart. Our executive team needed to take a break because our lives were so full of other things that were beyond our control. We felt that we could not give 100% of ourselves to our writing or encouraging of women through Tii. We didn’t want to just throw something together and it not be God-ordained. So, we took some time off.
This year, year five, is going to be a bit different. You will start to see some changes to the blog and Facebook pages. Why? Great questions!
As we have prayed over Titus II this summer and realized the outreach of our hearts, we have decided to really hone in on what discipleship and mentorship really look like. With that, we will need to reorganize things and we will be adding new writers, male writers, to the list of those who will bring you wonderful articles during the week. This will be a slow process as we are all volunteering our time and talents to this ministry.
God has given us a vision for what we need to focus on and that includes the continuation of encouragement, but we are also feeling led to really define our role as Christian. What does it mean to be a Christian? How am I a disciple and if I am then how do I disciple others? What is the difference between disciple and mentor? We are going to explore these areas with you with a new curriculum that is being written by David, my husband, and myself. We are working on this in between all the other life demands so please be patient with us.
Don’t loose heart! We will still be bringing you devotions that speak from life and how we can see God work through every single area of what we must walk through. I was just telling our teenagers the other day that life really sucks sometimes, but that is why God made us relational. We don’t have to go through it alone. We are here to help each other and Titus II still plans on being there to walk with you.
Titus II is still going to follow the model of Titus 2:3-5, but we are adding to it. We will focus on men and women and we want to encourage you in this as well. What will this look like in your personal life? Ministry life? Family life? How can you be part of God’s call to all Christians to raise up the generations behind you?
This is an exciting time for Titus II and also an apprehensive time. We want to follow God’s lead and only do His will in this. We want none of this to be from us as humans, but we want God to work through us. Our desire is to see God move through His people by empowering them to take hold of the passions and talents God has given them and use them to disciple and mentor others. Maybe you aren’t great at organization, but you can cook. Maybe you don’t like to play or watch sports, but you love the outdoors and all that comes with it. God gave you all a specific set of gifts and those same gifts can be used to reach the generations. Did you know that you can mentor the fatherless/motherless, but just taking them hunting or bringing them into your kitchen to bake with? Did you know that God gave you your passion for fixing things so that you can then teach another generation to do the same? You can equip the next generation with the tools needed to keep this world turning with grace and knowledge from our heavenly Father. That is just so amazing to me and I am so excited to see where God is going to lead us in this journey.
I hope that you are ready to take this exciting journey with us!
Lord, we ask today that You will continue to guide us as we start to focus on what it means to disciple and mentor and how You did that. We want to be a people that You work through. Lord, Your will be done in our lives as we follow Your call to the nations. Bless Your children as we set foot on the path You light before us. Bring the people into our lives each day that we are to reach for You. In Your name, amen.
