September 18, 2018 is a mile marker for me. I came to work, got my employees out the door to go and pick squirrel corn and finally sat down to look at my calendar. On it in bold letters “Glennette here 1 year today!”
The older I get the faster time seems to go. This was a mile marker year for me because in March I turned sixty. Yes, 60! I thought, “wow when did I get to be so old.” I remember not long ago thinking that people who were sixty were very old. And now here I am at the ripe old age of sixty.
But, I want to tell you I am so thankful! I am thankful that I feel well and am strong enough to run a business; that only by the grace of God and His knowledge imparted to me I am able to do. I am so thankful that when I was offered a different job a year ago that I felt a check of the Holy Spirit saying, “Glennette, just wait I have something better for you.” I waited and turned down the first job offered to me. I’m telling you, not fifteen minutes later my phone rang and I was asked to interview for the job I now have had for one whole year!
Now, that may not seem like such a huge thing to you, but to me it is and was and always will be a miracle! When we relocated from Alaska one of my fears was, who would hire a fifty-nine year old woman. But, God loves me and He had plans laid out for me that I had no idea I would have available to do.
So, I want to encourage you to take a look at your calendar and see if there is a praise of, “WOW, God, you really love me”, that you can share with the world today.
“ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
I just want to encourage you today, you are not too young, you are not too old. You are just right to be blessed and used by God. God hears us even before we ask, and the answer is already on the way. Isaiah 65:24 says, “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
Look for those calendar blessings,
